what do you think?

after my bios is done, it goes to a disk read error..

i tried having my cdrom boot first then it starts to setup installation.. then BAM

"disk read error"

then i tried booting up through floppy discs...

and then after disk 2 it goes into some error.. i dont know.. im a computer nub.. and i need help

i checked my cables and everything they seem fine..
the jumpers are fine too..


do you think its my hdd?

hmmm...so you can boot to Windows setup...that would indicate that rest of your hardware isn't totally fried. Yeah...it could be a dead HDD.

At what point in the installation does it crash??

i tried reparing my windows and ended up creating a new one on accident... but it crashed half way into it and now when i turn on my computer i have to choose between which windows i want to run... does anyone know how to get rid of it because its a pain in the ass to have to do it everytime... thx and sorry foolz i am dumb with comps so i cant help u.

if it crashes after the BIOS but you can boot from a CD-ROM then it's more likely to be a problem with the HDD. :(

Have you tried running DOS versions of disc tools for your HDD? Or at least burn them to CD and then use that as the boot. At least this way you can check if it's your HDD.

Any new programs installed? pr0n downloaded? hax? :P

no its my office comp, just went down.. i dont know..

im going to fryes to buy a hd now.. so we'll see what happens
