After the recent series of patches for steam, my graphics for CSS went on the fritz. I tried playing with all of the settings in options to no avail. I am completely stumped :confused:

Does anyone have any ideas?

If you're running an Nvidia gfx card then you're screwed. Sorry.

But seriously though you can try adding "-directx 80" to your command line options for CS:S in steam.

In your list of games in steam, right-click on CS:S, goto 'properties', then select 'launch options', add "-directx 80" (without quotes) and then try launching again.

This command makes your card run in directx 8 instead of 9.

PS You may need to specify resolution as well "-width 1024 -height 768" or whatever you use. I don't really know because I have ATI and I don't have these problems.

I think that I may have fixed it by updating my drivers. It was still really choppy, but my connection was lagging last night anyways. I hope it will work when I try it today. Thanks for all the help though ^_^

Scratch that, it looks better but it's still really choppy. >.<
