I decided to go with dell because I already had owned 3 laptops from dell and I havet got any problems, also ABS is not offering a video card that I want (7800 GTX), also because XPS laptops are stylish and look hot and ABS doesnt, also because I will most likely get 15% discount, I think that answears you some questions. I own a very powerfull desktop but I use Laptop 80% of all my time spent in front of computer so I need to replace my Inspiron 9100 for something faster with more gaming power.

Yeah but if a 7800gtx is bottle necked on a amd fx 55 4200 its gonna be like needle necked on that laptop.

really someone told me that laptops aren't good for gaming at all and i was so close to buying one but then i didn't because of what that guy told me . so i got a desktop from dell it is kickass for me .
p4 3.0 intel
256mb graphic card
1gb of memory
80gb harddrive sata it is saposta be faster then regular hd
and i got a sony LCD 17''
the computer alone cost me money but no as much as 3500. it was only $1500. you get alot from dell for a desktop for 1500. oh did i also say 4 year warr cant beat that

Do you think I will carry my Desktop to work 6 days a week?
Mr.
Nice setup, but maybe a bigger HD? Should be alright if it's not your primary comp.
Please don't even consider ABS. I have one of their laptops and it's been a lot of trouble. Their service department blows. I've beeen waiting over 9 months for a call back because of a faulty power supply lead.
Hard drive failed one week past warranty and other problems where you call their service department, wait on hold for an hour or two only to have them tell you that you will be called in a couple of days. The longest outstanding call is the one above and it's close to almost a year now, still no call back. Why I went away from Dell I don't know. My previous laptop was an Inspiron 4000 that lasted about 4 years and it's still going. My ABS I've had to replace the HD, keyboard, and buy a new power lead. I will never buy from them again.

i will always stick with dell because i love my desktop i got from them and i like their help service. me being dumb forgot that i had to put all the shit back on my comp after formating to get my internet back up and other stuff so they walked me through it and got me set up and told me where to get the updates for all my stuff.

Um I know most would expect this to be said but you could shave off almost a grand if you built it completely from http://www.newegg.com.
Edit: Oh snap, didn't see it was a laptop, sorry. Not a bad price I suppose for a laptop.

Upgrade for 72000rpm was to expensive, I decided to get cheapest drive from Dell and but seperatly on NewEgg TOSHIBA 80GB 54000rpm with 16MB cache. As for OS i piced Media Center 2005 because I watch a lot of movies and have lots of mp3 and pictures, plus I own XP pro, home and now Media Center.
