i recently installed counterstrike source and for sum weird reason whenever i try to open it up it says that theres a error. can anyone help me?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling. After you uninstal delete any folders left over just to make sure you have a clean install.

can you please post your system specs? That should help others think of reasons why. If you're running Nvidia, there was a problem with the last update messing up the way Nvidia cards worked but that should have been fixed. Please make sure you're running the latest official release for your card.

In addition to what Mr said, make sure you're playing on a server that you have a decent ping on. You have a broadband connection, right?

Could you be a little more specific other than "it's not working". I'm assuming that after the update your version of steam is no longer functioning and you can't start any of your games.

Sounds more like an issue with steam rather than with your games. One thing that could be worth trying would be to reinstall the main steam program. It sounds like a file or two got corrupted during the last update.

You may want to search the main steam forums on http://steampowered.com/index.php?area=forums for a more specific fix.

Unfortunately I have forgotten my xfire login details so that won't work so well. Hope this goes some way in helping you out.
