Love it or hate it?

I've always liked Nuke. The only thing I didn't like was the insane amount of spamming that could be done through walls in 1.6 that must have made it heaven for wall hackers. Can't wait to play the source version!

heh, I know. It's amazing how quickly the server filled up since I changed it to nuke only. I've also upped the bots from 2 (Dan, it didn't work out) to 8. Within minutes of changing to nuke the server has been populated with at least 12 people all afternoon. It's great.

Flitch: Nuke was released for source last night.

I can't wait to get home and check out this new map. I only wish my card supported HDR. :(

Yeah, me too. I think mine does but then my frames would be like a still life painting.

Anyone have a geforce 6600 agp? I'm thinking of getting one since they're about $100 just as a temporary measure until I get enough funds to build a new comp next year.

I have a MSI 6600 GT. If you've got a gig it'll do just fine.

Im not much of a fan. First of all my opinion is very sckewed because my score was 1-12 when I quit.


There was pretty much only one thing I didnt like. Darkness. Its dark everywhere in the underground bombsite. Team killed 2 people then I got shot from the complete darkness... I only got 3 kills and all were with the use of night vision.

Im sure I will like it once I figure out all the camping spots, so I dont get jumped every round.

The map is awesome....but when you're outside...it can be a resource hog...

run outside with some enemies in your view and watch the framerate plummet.

My framerate is about 13 when i play it soo it's pretty much unplayable. Also when i played it earlier today the game just crashed becuase of the excessive amounts of stuff on the map.

What kind of PC are you using?

The truth is they(last action hero, and Darkone) are whores for uber resolution. They play it at 1280 x 768(lcd). He only has an x300se. No sense feeling sorry for him because he could reduce his resolution, and play at a very good framerate. Also it wouldnt suprise me if he had HDR on to the max.

I have my resolution down to 8x6 and a lot turned off in order to play most games at a decent fps. On nuke it's pretty bad: ~40-50fps which dips quite a lot.

9500pro, weak, thinking of getting a 6600gt which will hopefully hold me over for about 4-5 months while I save to build a new rig.

OMFG throw that away right now, it's cramping your style. I'd rather use integrated over that just out of spite for the 9500 series.

Sorry to say but I went from 20 fps in mohaa to 100 when I bought a 9550. Integrated are almost never better than an actuall pci-e or agp card.

It's lasted me almost 2 years which isn't that bad considering, but lately it's really been showing it's age with the more recent games such as HL2, BF2, and NFS:MW. I'd like to be able to run at higher res with more eye candy. I know it's stopped me buying games I might have bought such as F.E.A.R. However I can't get my head around spending $300-400 on an agp graphics card when I want to upgrade my system, more like build another one, in the next 6 months or so. I think $120 on 6600gt would be a nice temporary fix.

I'd rather use integrated over that just out of spite for the 9500 series.

aight i quit reading all ur posts half way... way to many on the subject. anyways i love the map. de_nuke was a great map in 1.6 and they did very well in bringing it to source. i didnt have a problem with it being too dark in the basement kyle. just make sure that your monitor brightness is all the way up and it should be fine and yes ben if you be N!NJ@ there is no way you will be killed!

I kinda like having rich colors, that is why I dont turn my brightness up. So in a way I choose to play in the dark. Oh well Ill just have to save a little extra each round and buy night vision.

After all its not like my k:d ratio means anything to me...

It's horrible. Every time i join the map it takes about 5 mins until i'm in. Verified GCF's, turned HDR off and on and still the same. :(

I know my computer can handle it so i've just put it down to another Valve mini mistake the same as Inferno.
