I cnaged to a diffent vedio setting and now it just goes to a black screen i can hear it in the back grown.. but i cant see the menue screen.. cuz i changed to a different veido screen.... i tried reinstaling.. but it stil dosent workk.. what do i do.....

you can force it to open in a particular resolution by adding "-width 1024 -height 768" to your command line parameters. Obviously replace 1024 and 768 with the resolution that you want. I beleive you can also set it by using "-w 1024 and -h 768".

I cant get to the commands..... It worked fine On the vedio setting "D3D" Pr DR3" .. Something like that.. IT startted with a D.. Then i switched to something else/... I dont knwo what.. I dont think it wsa "software".. but it might have been... Or openDl or something..

Tell you the truth i dont knwo what.. I just switched it.. n it went into that screen.. n i couldnt see anything.. n i pressed enter n it locked it in that setting......

But i knwo the game is running.. Its just i cant see anything to change it back... any ideas????? ITs getting annoying.. LOL the game is running BUT I CANT SEE IT!!!! ERRRRRRRR

add those commands to your shortcut for CS:S so that it looks something like this "hl2.exe -game cstrike -fullscreen -d3d -width 1024 -height 768"

To view, right-click on your CS:S shortcut. You don't have to have the game started to do this. Can you remember the resolution you were using before you changed it?

It is possible you're running in software mode but they took out support for OpenGL in Source.

I've added the -d3d switch to the comman line above so that it makes it start in direct3d mode.

Waiteee. I have steam..... :S.. ... ..

Then add those to you command line parameters in steam.

Right-click on CS:S in your games list. Choose "Properties".

Under the "General" tab click on "Set launch options.."

In the window that pops up type: -fullscreen -d3d -width 1024 -height 768.

Click "OK", close and start CS:S.

i checked.. but its connected to source.. n there is nutthing u can do like that there......:(:(.... any other i deas??

just to let you know "vedio" is "video"

Like mr said, open steam/go to my games/rightclick counterstrike source/properties/gerneral/setlaunch options- then type what mr wrote.
