is it possible to play only wit bots in offline mode? if there is then how. cause i tried in offline mode and it said could not connect even though i was offline.

steam can be a bit of a nuisence at times, most of the time you should be able to play with bots in offline mode but if your css isnt updated fully or steam just decides to be gay it may not work. So my only advice is keep trying, maybe just connect with a connection if possible and then just disconnect your internet connection once steam has loaded up.

I used to be able to do it. However looking through my Steam, I can no longer see the switch that allows you to start steam in offline mode.

A way to do this would be to start CS:S and in the opening page look for the tab that says "Create Server". Click on that and from there you're taken to a window where you can configure your server with as many bots as you want. Just be careful that the more bots you add the greater the drain on your cpu and consequently your game may suffer. Start with a low number of bots and see how it progresses.

There have been many updates since I tried playing bots in offline mode and I can't remember how I got it to work but give the suggestion above a go.

Its supposed to work all the time. Its just sometimes steam will say there is a problem connecting when you ask it to do it in offline mode. Its like it doesnt even pay attention that you are trying to do it offline.

true, i wanted to do offline cause it wont let me join servers online. I havent been able to play at all since i got this :mad:

Yeah I know it was very dumb to ask, but Im trying to get at all he has to do is connect to the internet then let steam connect. Then he can play with all the bots he wants.

Well if you have dial up it will prolly still be updating. The bots did not come until an update so you need to update your css fully first. I dont know of any other reason why you could not play in your own server with bots.
