All are set to 30mins or 20rounds won, except for fy_iceworld_arena which has no round limit but 20mins timed.
As usual a vote will come up close to the time limit or round limit which will allow you to vote for other maps not in the rotation. All standard maps are available to be voted on as well as de_speedball_b2. Remember that if you are alive and a vote has started you have to type "vote" in all_say to see list of maps.

As I said, they are all there to vote for. Running the default map cycle list on the server doesn't work well in terms of keeping the server busy so I'm defaulting to the most commonly played maps and throwing in iceworld as a break in the cycle.
Inferno has a strange effect of emptying the server, as does prodigy and train.
I don't like Tides, Piranancy, and Chateau
Assault, Italy, and Compound are just too camptastic (so is Awptec when the CTs have good awpers - I've tried limiting awps but haven't been able to test it yet).
Dust gets so boring when the Ts lose their balls and stop rushing (this usually happens once the CTs have saved for M4s and AWPs), then it gets camptastic.

I disagree, with the above post.
fy_iceworld_arena doesn't draw a crowd it runs them off. In my experience on the server.
(not to mention I can't play it)
Just my opinion.
I think it is a fun map, played it at the lan and enjoyed it but, I think it is a map that an admin can change to or be a voted in map not put into permanent rotation.
Surely we could put in another short style map that would bring peeps in.
Like I stated above it is just "my" opinion.

So very true.
Im suprised that someone agrees with me about inferno. I like the map, but it does empty the server.
On a second note, lately we have been able to get more people in the duw server by adding surf maps and some new texture maps. Gets out of the camping rut. ;)

The only maps I don't really like are: Tides, Piranesi, Chateau, Port, and Compound.
It's a shame that inferno empties because I like the map a lot, same with prodigy and train. All three are great maps but whenever the server used to switch to them you'd lose about 90% of the players.
Haven't played any surf maps yet. While I have made the exception to put iceworld_arena in rotation I don't want the server to become a custom map server. Maybe I'm alone in this, who knows. If people feel strongly that a map should or should not be in rotation (or the addition of one or two custom maps) then PM me.
edit: even as I was typing this the server changed to iceworld_arena it had 6 people on with another 5 joining.

There are some people that do search out custom maps. I used to do it alone, but it does get old after some time. Surf maps change source completely. No longer are you trying to kill, bomb, hostie. Its all about going fast and hitting jumps, which is a huge change. I support the idea to stay away from custom maps.
It seems to me that with each update people stick more and more to dust, dust 2 and office. Alot seem to neglect stuff like prodigy over time, and it is sad.

Yes, it still amazes me that dust gets played as often as it does. It's not a balanced map and requires teamwork from the Ts to consistently win.
Usually once the Ts lose a round they start camping and it gets really boring.

i for one hate surf maps and most custom maps... i guess im just an old school player. i like to keep it normal and let my skill take me to victory. none of this custom maps where i cant surf ont he stupid wave thing. although climb maps are fun... when u get to the top u feel really good about yourself.

Ugh, I played a surf map for the first time today. It was horrible.

Its no where near traditional source. Also it takes some practice to get good at surfing. I do realize that surfing is only for a small group, if everyone loved it valve would make a surf map :D
