ive been playing cs:s for a few months and now it wont run. when i select a server and it starts loading it up it quits the program and says i have to end the task. this happens right before it gets into the actual game. WHATS THE DEAL????????

umm u could try re-installing your game or making sure u have all the proper updates. that and if you made a config file to tweak ur settings make sure that u didnt put anything into it that wont screw up the game. thats all i got for ya.

So you are able to load steam and everything is fine. Have you tried any other games or is it just CS:S?

Did you install any hardware or software recently?

Update any drivers?

Open any emails with unknown attachments?

i did NOTHING.

but i did re-install to try and fix it but it did not work. steam works, and i can open the games up to the main menu point, but when i actually join a game and it loads it, right after 'sending client info' it says i have to end task. i didnt change anything, and i didnt open any e-mails or anything.

Check your firewalls maybe...disalbe them and see if it works.

I think the reinstall didn't take properly. Uninstall completely, delete any left over folders, then reinstall. Or at least completely uninstall CS:S, delete the folder, then reinstall.

now only 2 servers will work, i've tried quite alot of them and they're the only ones that will actually get into the game. and they suck haha
