what causes high ping? is there anyway i can lower mine? i have cable internet running 5mb down and 1mb or 2mb up.

Connect to a server that's closer to you. If you have cable you should be able to find quite a few servers where you ping 75 or less.

Whenever I'm looking for good servers I just sort my server list by ping.

Our server is in Chicago if you're anywhere close:D

First thing you should do is close all programs that use your bandwidth. Then select a sever with a low ping. If your ping is low but you still lag try lowering your video settings.

I've actually seen quite a few east cost people ping pretty decent on our server. Try connecting to it once and let me know what your ping is is you have a second.
