Well, I've installed the game, also Steam, ran the patch, but when I try to play, this error message pops up

Hmmm, does Steam start up at all?

Is this a legit version of CS? I doubt it since you need to patch it.

you could try getting steam off the internet and trying to install it that way, or you could get it off the net and dont run it and find the steam interface if your good enough.

if not just go with downloading it and installing it.

Looking at the picture it isn't even installed in the correct directory making Tr32k's comment the most valid.
