first i apologize about my poor language and then the problem is after i installed the game "non steam" when i tried to connect i get this message "u'er version does not match the server please restart the game" . i'm clueless please help and thanx in advance

in order to play counter strike source, u need to download steam first, then, download the game through it.

sorry that i havnt posted the details .. i have steam, installed it long time ago. but i got cs:s through a friend that copied the installation files on a dvd he gave me the main install + patch 7 ,8 and 9 .
anyway i installed the game and replaced the file in my old steam files with the new cs:s files so now it does'nt work on stean but it works fine on its owen and yet .. i get the mentioned message with any server i tryed to connect to .
any ideas ?

It's because there are patches to CS:S almost every month so it's very likely that the patches you have are now obsolete.

If you want to play online you'll have to buy a retail version, they're only about $20 so it's not that big of a deal.
