i recently watched a video that showed how much the hitboxes on source are off.
So does anyone know if valve has done anything to change this?
If not... is there anyway to fix it so that the hitbox if really correct?
And if not... is there a special place u should aim to do maximum damage quickly? Liek do u aim for the head, torso, ive even heard "aim at the crotch man!" lol.... or should u aim where the hitbox is, like should u lead ur opponent if he is strafing?
Thx for the help.
Peace.

If it's the same one I'm thinking off then yes, Valve have done something to correct it but I think I'm right in saying it's still a little off. The video I'm thinking of is about 20-30 secs, showing a model running around lower mid in d2 with wire frame hitboxes trailing behind it. That video is about 18months old or so, it came out about 2-3 weeks following CS:S release.
The most important thing you can do is make sure your rates are configured correctly. If you're on a 100tic server, or any server for that matter, your rates should be:
rate 25000
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
You may experience some choke and loss, depends upon your connection to the server and will vary from server to server. However if you have low ping and broadband connection then use the rates above. I think the default values are cl_cmdrate 20, cl_updaterate 30.
There used to be a method of correcting for hitboxes by setting cl_interpolate 0, interp 0, and cl_smooth 0, but Valve have changed those settings around so they're pretty much useless.
Until your aim improves you should just try for torso shots (biggest target) and aim around shoulder/neck height. Try not to go full auto, learn to do 2-3 shots bursts with m4 or ak. Shooting somone in the crotch does NOT do extra damage. lol.
There's no real reason to lead your opponent since Source doesn't have the engine for that, unlike BF2 where you would have to lead your target, however try it and if it works for you then by all means keep doing it.
