i am constantly getting error messages saying that i've received fragments out of order and the game freezes. why is this happening and how can i stop it?

Sounds like your router is not processing the incoming packets correctly.

and I have a Linksys router

While I'm not an expert on routers and how to configure them, I do have a Linksys router myself and have had no problems with it and several cable sources.

I would try this program:

Hopefully that should enable you to find better settings that will eliminate the "packet out of order" error.

I've used the program myself in the past to make sure my settings are fine. It's possible your settings are make your packets very small so the first thing to check would be your MTU value (a safe value for this is 1500). But be sure to read the accompanying documentation because there are several areas that can be tweaked to make your packet size larger (and less fragmented).

Takkun...I have a linksys router (BEFSX41) and had that problem to. It's your firmware...it just doesn't like CS.

Flash to the latest firmware for your router and that should solve the problem.
