Well my xbox 360 decided to take a shit on me today. The damn thing will play the game for a good while, but then will freeze with little white lines all over the place. Then when i turn my console back on 3 red lights appear on the Ring of Light. Xbox forums tells me that there have been many problems like this happening to people almost at the same time mine did. Only thing left for me to do is call xbox support and see if they can walk me through steps that might get it to work without sending it in. makes me angry because i just got my own xbox live account, which is SoLDaY if you wanted to add me. Well im done yelling on the forums. Hope everyone elses console is being a peice of shit.

well just got off the phone with xbox support and they said to send it in to them. they are sending me a pre-paid shipping box and all i have to do is send it in to get fixed. its all free so im not complaining, but it still kinda sucks that i wont be able to play it for 2-3 weeks.

Did they say it was a problem with the external power supply? RS had a problem with his power supply a month or so ago. If so, I may consider unplugging my ps from now on when not in use.

the power supply is fine... they light is green when it is on and yellow when it is off. it is something internal on the 360. kinda sucks lol

I heard microsoft is extending the warranty period because of this problem.

Are they mailing you a new one or sending you a gift card?

I used the Circuit City Protection plan so I did not have to use the Microsoft warranty. Mine was just passed 90 days when it went and they had not yet extended the warranty period.

they are having me send it in and the guy said they are going to try and fix it. so im sure if they cant fix it they will send me a new one.

doh bro that sucks. Atleast they are gonna fix it. I haven't had any issues with mine, but then again I dont play it that much I use it more as a dvr from my winMCE pc hehe. I did just get gears of war, kittie and I have been playing co-op

The pattern of 3 red lights on the ring of lights means its a power supply problem. I think its quandrants 2/3/4. Its not the actual ps, but what it plugs into in the console that tends to go. We lose a kit to this every once in awhile at the studio, although it always seems to happen to the artists. :) MS has been pushing us to upgrade all of our devkits anyways. (they probly want more money).

I just bought a 360 that has some major problems but I can't really complain because I only paid $20 for it. The thing's disc drive will open and when I put a disc in and close it, the thing just opens right away. It acts like a little kid that is trying to piss you off and it will never even try to read the damn disc. The owner before me wasn't very bright and he opened the box up which voided the warranty, so do you think it is worth sending it in to get it fixed for a price?
