Im not a computer person.. but goddamn i do play alot of cs.

i have a amd 2.4 and 1 gig of ram..

i recently bought this 256 mb vid card...i think it slike gx5700le or something like that but on cs i get 100fps.. but cs-source i get like 30-40 fps..


anybody got any ideas to boost up this fps?

Are you using the most up-to-date drivers for the video card? That alone can get you another 20 - 30 fps with certain video cards.

After checking your drivers you should look in the 'rates' thread as there area links there for a variety of issues regarding how to set your rates properly and also for settings to put in your autoexec file that make the game look duller but gives you more fps. Alternatively google and you'll find a bunch of dfferent things.

what do you have everything set to in the video section of the configuration. A lot can be tweaked/altered right from there. Maye sure to turn everything down to medium or low.

Foolz, Im runing Gainward 5700 ULTRA with 128MB RAM and I just happend to overclock mine last night, from 50FPS IN CSS i went up to 75, sometimes I hit almost 90. I dont know what brand is your video card, but for example Gainward supplies its costurmert with EXPERT Tool which u can use to boost preformance via overclocking. Look around if you can get any overclocking tool. Also there is a tool which name I dont remember at the moment that works with all NVidia based video cards.

how do you overclock? so do i have to open my case and do something to it?

Go to http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/ and get rivatuner, install it and try to increase your clock speeds, I would boot it up by 50MHz. I also read some place that 2D and 3D should be set to same values.
