I played cs source for the first time over the weekend...

Let's just say this. I immediatly ran to my computer and ordered my new PC. I arrives on Wednesday, so be looking for JimmyCarter then...

it ~could~ run it, but I don't want to taint my opinion of source because of a sub-par PC.... plus, I just want some raw frickin power.... :)

It runs fine on my system, little lower fps than the other CS games but it is so much better looking. I question how fast people move in front of u though, it looks a little like they are ice skating.

Counter-Strike Source definitely appears to be "faster" than previous version of counterstrike. All aspects - movement, shooting, falling, jumping, etc. I haven’t played 1.6 in so long (not even installed anymore) so it didn't take me log to get used to it.

I have noticed though that it seems your connection speed to the server is more important than in 1.6. I could play 1.6 on a server with a ping of 100 and not really notice. A 100 ping in counter strike source is a whole new story - you'll definitely notice it. I've found a couple servers where I ping in the low to mid 30's on a pretty consistent basis. Game play is smooooooooth in that range.

I would hope that when our server is I'll ping in the high teens/low twenties.
