According to what Valve said they will be testing this week...
It's not going to eliminate 100% of the hacks and cheats but it should help cut down on what has been an ever-growing number of offenders since Counter Strike: Source was released.

Valve needs to hook up with Steambans, or vice versa. If they could work out some sort of a deal that empowered hackers found by Steambans to be completely banned like VAC is supposed to do, the world would be a much happier place. For CS, at least. I won't be happy until my Russian mail-order bride arrives.
Flitch
damn, your Russian mail-order bride hasnt arrived either?
Mr.
Going along with what Black said, Valve needs to team-up with all the reputable leagues and anti-cheat organizations and ban cheaters permanently from the STEAM network.
It's too bad they had to announce the arrival of the VAC2 beta. It would have been nicer to have them do it quietly. Personally I think they should enforce the Mature rating and ban little kids. O_o

I think more 18-30 year olds would get banned from this than actual kids. But adding to that, I think that there should be a new diagnostic test when a woman is pregnant. The "How Damn Stupid Is Your Kid Gonna Be?" test. Those who have children that fail the test should be carted off the Antarctica or somewhere else remote.
Mr.
heh, I've always felt that way about CS ever since I started playing. There should be a little test you have to take before your allowed on a server or before each map.
1. How do you plant the bomb if you have it?
2. Where can you find the bomb on your radar if it is dropped?
3. How can you distinguish the bomb-carrier from other members of your team?
and so on....
