Anyone have issues with the volume of their mic? Mine broke so i went and bought a new one. I was using a MS/plantronics one before. This time i got a plantronics audio .60 cus its about the closest to the old headset that I had.

I for the life of me can't get the volume up above a heavy whisper unless i put the damn mic inside of my mouth lol.

Ive got all of the mic settings jacked to high, boost on. I even went into the sound/audigy properties and turned the master and every sound i could think up over 85%. The volume got a little better but not enough.

Ive had to turn the sound/music down because they got way too loud. Anyone else have the issue? I don't remember ever having a sound issue with my old headset.

Maybe return it and see if the replacement does the same? Probably just a dodgy headset.

Return/replace seems like the first logical step...there's only so many volume settings you can tweak. If the replacement is giving you the same problems I suggest you check/replace the operator and see if that helps:-)

Every time I've had issues related to my mic it's been because of my own stupidity. What do you mean people can't hear me when I have mute checked? That's just plain crazy, lol.

hehe. Gonna see if i still have the package. What headsets do you guys use? I notice that Black Dog generally come over loud and clear. Alloy too seem to have a decent mic.

Can you guys hear hell~kat just fine? Cus i tried her headset and i still can't get squat for output volume on the mic. Not sure what i would need to tweak on the new computer, its not a hardware issue cus its all brand new, or it shouldnt be a hardware issue. I can hear just fine its just the mic volume

I can hear Kat clear most of the time, though sometimes she's kinda quiet. Usually right before she stabs me in the ass.

By the way, here's two things to check on your current headphones:

Is the receive plugged into the correct (green) jack?
Is your microphone muted by a control on the headset wire, like a thumbswitch?

I've had my microphone on manual mute before and never realized it.

yes it still is a pieve of shit... its no headphone mic all in one kinda deal... but it works.

i think i found the issue.. Some of you guys told me it was louder tonight. When I was playing with the windows sound recorder i noticed it was hella low in there too. I found a 2nd set of configure's that let me turn on the damn 20db boost. So it should be cool now. Sounds loud in Vent atleast thats what kat told me

vent has its own seperate controls so hopefully you arnt to loud.
