So many people with low specs, and yet we whine about our FPS.

I thouht the same thing. Some people are really running Source on garbage systems...yet they are amzed that they can't get a constant 100+ fps.

yeah, it's all a matter of optimization. I tried running CS:S a couple of days ago with almost default settings and it was horrible. I'd get choke, loss, about 20+ less fps than with my config and much wider range of fps, and laggy movement on the server. With my usual config my fps is normally at 74 (fps_max 75) which may dip down to high 50s on occasion alhtough it's quite rare. Without my config I get 74fps if I'm lucky, which varies erratically down to mid 20s and usually anything in between but tending to the upper-30s mid-40s.

I don't have an amazing system but I guess the only thing I want to upgrade at the moment is my gfx card, a 9500pro, to something more like 6600gt or x700 xt or something like that.
