On a scale of 1 to 5, how would you rate the new de_port map for Source?

I think the map is a little small. You jump 1 barrier out a little drop and up some wire coils and your at a bomb site.

I voted 4, since I love mor open maps. The only problem i've got is that some of the sniper spots are a tad TOO unfair, since they reach all over the map almost.

I gave it a 4. I had to play it a few times to really get comfortable. After that it's pretty well done imo.

I gave it a 4 as well. The map is great except if you are a CT (To much area and obstacles between bombsites) I would have given it a 5 if not for the previous reason and the fact that too much detail was given. My connection can't handle the map with more than 6 players per team.
Steam and Valve need to be a little more complementary to those of us who can't get a high speed connection.
But, all said and done Great Map!

I gave it a 4 because although it's a great map, it takes a while to get used to and if you make a wrong step you end up in the water :(

I gave it a 2 for several reasons.
1. Although I agree with cg_ that the map is deceptively small, a small map isn't a bad thing. It only becomes a bad thing when A single well placed sniper can lock down the entire freaking map!!.
2. After playing both it and inferno, port got the shaft on details. Generic rehashed textures, big blocky objects, and with the the map being shore based, even the background and skybox are lame.
3. The choke points are all CT sided and any team that knows how to use radio can wipe a T assault 9/10 times. Add the fact that the bomb sites are so near one another and you discover an interesting formula for port.
CTs + Defuse Kits + AWPs = Weak Map
Other than that, I still enjoy the map and don't mind playing it. You can find me on the CT side.

i rated it a 2... it was a very open map (kinda like compound) and the bombsites are too close together. also i find that i always lag on that map. i have been on it on dif servers and yet i still lag. no clue y but i do. so i rated it a 2.

I actually found it just the opposite; I think it's a T-sided map. When I played as a CT, the T's went for the boat bombsite 99% of the time, and the CTs could never beat them there. There are essentially zero choke points because there's eleventy-billion ways to get to each bomb site.
Another super annoying thing that I found when I played was that T's would get behind the sheet metal fence near their spawn and wait until the CT's were either in the alley below or the oil field directly opposite, then just spray the hell out of the fence. I saw a lot of CTs go down like that, and it's damn silly.
Sniper rifles of any sort make this map stupid. Sure, a CT on top of an oil tower can cover the whole map, but that problem is easily countered by the fact that they stick out like a sore thumb. The real problem is when a sniper gets on the boat and sits down behind the pipes. When crouching, the person is all but impossible to hit with normal fire due to the cover that the pipes provide- yet they can shoot through the pipes in the position with no penalty. I lost count of how many times my team got wiped by a T crouching behind the pipes with an awp. I don't know if this is a bug or intentional, but it's very unfair.
I gave it a 3.

It is extremely easy to wipe out an entire group of T's headed for the boat.
Simply buy an auto sniper, a defuse kit, and kevlar. Next, go to the ship, and walk to the end that is nearer to the T side. Now sit and snipe anyone that pops out of the T spawn.
I killed over half of the T team with potshots from my AUG.

kk i screwd up... i ment to say that the bombsites are really far away, not to close together. if you get even stalled a little while ur at one bombsite while it is planted at the other you wont get it... and i still lag on it. i believe its because its such an open map.

Open maps tend to lag more since the skybox has to stretch over the whole thing. My map may have a similar problem... :-/

This map has been growing on me. The more I play, the more I like.
What I need to do is free up more time to play Source.
