WTF - During Peak hours! The server is down and I am trying to get it updated.

What does this update do?

The second update undoes the first update, lol. From our host:



All CS:Source Servers are now updated and ready to go. I have verified and they are now stable. They plan to re-release this update by next week. If you have any questions please let us know.

Just a heads up and we are working on all CS:Source and HL2 DM Servers now. The Steam update that was released today was totally messed up. Thier was noway this was ever tested and once the recognized that it was causing huge problems including constant crashing problems they simply put a update on thier website stating the following "Update - We have rolled back all the Counter-Strike: Source changes apart from the de_inferno update to fix a hang bug some users are experiencing. These changes will be re-released next week." Now this means all servers need to be updated again. Since its 4:30AM EST we are going to update all servers personally to ensure everything is corrected and running perfectly. Well as perfectly as the steam versions can run...

Anyway thanks for your patience and I will make sure to put my 2 cents in to the steam admins on another great update. Plan on this update happening next week some time and hopefully the bugs will be fixed.


Way to go Valve!!!!

What I love is the people that vehemently defend Valve even when they do blatantly stupid shit like this. "OMG you assholes if you think programming and techincal support is so easy then why don't you do it yourselves? Valve is my hero!"

I don't think that programming is easy at all. But then again, it shouldn't take a NASA team of scientists and engineers to make sure that an update isn't fubar'ed before release. Just think if Valve was a team of heart surgeons instead of computer programmers:

"Well sir, we put a pacemaker in you, but in our hurry to close you up we forgot to actually turn it on. Or even connect it to your heart. And for some reason that even we don't understand, one of your lungs was removed."

Exactly. So what was the update supposed to fix in de_inferno?

The fact that it wasn't completely compiled.

This round of updates was total ****ing joke.

Valve should be embarrassed.

As if always issuing their updates during peak times isn't bad enough, they issue shit updates that break servers and then issue secondary updates to remove the shit update we just installed...all during peak hours of course.
